About the role
As a HSEQ Leadwith CDS, you will be responsible for overseeing all of the Health, Safety and Environmental concerns within CDS and ensure that the WHS operational, reporting and management systems across all of Core Drilling Services work sites adhere to the relevant legislative guidelines and maintains the businesses due diligence in providing safe work conditions for its staff and customer networks and developing the skills and knowledge of our team.
The role is responsible for leading, facilitating and implementing the company's Safety Management System, Wellness Program, Emergency Management Program, Environmental Responsibility and Return to Work Programs, through the provision of specialised advice, guidance and leadership within health and safety, wellbeing and rehabilitation management to all staff, clients and applicable contractors; to monitor and report upon the operation of the Safety Management system in line with Core Drilling Services strategic goals and to facilitate the ongoing commitment to developing the understanding, technical abilities and skill sets of our team through Certified and Registered Training.
This role will see you:
- lead and manage the work, health & safety team;
- development of WH&S policies, guidelines and procedures for the business to support effective implementation of WH&S practices;
- identify, evaluate and monitor significant WH&S problems and development of strategies to eliminate or minimise these risks;
- planning and submission of recommendations for WH&S minor works and maintenance to enable a programmed improvement in the safety of facilities;
- communicate to stakeholders within the business to establish acceptance of responsibility and accountability for WH&S
- implement effective WH&S training programs for managers, supervisors, new employees and those involved in particular hazard areas to ensure the adoption of safe working practices;
- provide specialist advice and guidance to CDS personnel on all WH&S matters in order to support the development of a healthy and safe work environment for all people within the business;
- lead investigations of all HSEQ hazards/incidents and any organisational non-conformances;
- perform workplace inspections and in-field auditing;
- ensure systems and processes are in place and utilised to identify hazards and assess and control risks in the workplace, and
- report on overall company safety performance,
- ensure company compliance to IS0-9001, 14001 and 45001.
About you
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (at minimum)
- Minimum 2 - 3 years' successful hands-on leadership of an OH&S function in a mining environment and/or similar sized organisation
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable but not essential)
- Certified in Internal Auditing (desirable but not essential)
- Able to work a 2:1 or 2:2 FIFO roster
