About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to expand their contractor management expertise in a high-visibility role, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across our asset.

Reporting to the Manager Contracts Asset Training & Doc Governance, this Perth based position performs a vital role in upholding Contractor Management excellence and promoting successful partnerships with Indigenous and Traditional Owner businesses in line with BHP's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

You will lead a team of high performing specialists, to manage the performance of over 30 Indigenous and Traditional owner vendors that support our operations in the Pilbara.

Duties include:

  • Contract owner responsible for overarching Contractor management and performance aligning to our WAIO Contractor Management Standard
  • Lead a team of Contracts Specialists that oversee the Governance of our Contractor Management requirements, support with safety and operational KPI performance, and work closely as partners with our vendors to build long lasting relationships
  • Ensure adherence to our underpinning contractual requirements which includes managing monthly contracts reporting
  • Work with a variety of internal teams to source vendors for tenders and undertake reviews of associated procurement activities as a stakeholder
  • Support with onboarding of vendors enabling a successful partnership and execution of works
  • Being the point of contact and a trusted partner with vendors to support issue resolutions, queries and support throughout work activities

About You

  • The ability to identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leading teams with integrity, trust and collaboration enabling a culture of care and respectful workplace
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, confident with a high level of autonomy and accountability
  • Ability to navigate complex contract issues with culture of care at front of mind
  • Ability to develop and maintain customer and vendor relationships and work with stakeholders across multiple geographical regions and varying backgrounds
  • Leadership experience whether formally or informally
  • Experience or qualifications in Contractor management and minor projects would be beneficial
  • Experience working with Indigenous and Traditional Owner vendors is highly regarded
  • Connection to the Pilbara or other area of operations across Australia
