Micway Transport is a family owned and operated business with over two decades of experience within refrigerated transport. We own a modern and well maintained fleet, and we pride ourselves in excellent customer service and high safety standards.

We require the services of suitably qualified HC Owner Operators to become part of our team towing our trailers to deliver stock.

Tasks involved and skills required:

  • Truck Driving Operations - Local & Intrastate Work
  • Set 14 Day Roster - working 6 days one week, 5 days the next
  • Experience with refrigerated trucks
  • Electric Pallet Jack experience advantageous, but not essential
  • Delivering chilled and frozen food to major fast food outlets & major retail chains
  • Manual handling involves the following:
  • Using tailgate and electric pallet jack to unload pallets with food from the truck onto the ground.
  • Manually transferring boxes from the pallets onto the trolley.
  • Pushing trolley to the unloading area and manually unload boxes.
  • Manually lift boxes that may weigh anywhere between 1 and 18 kg.
  • Compliance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures is a must.

Criteria:

The successful Sub-Contractor must be a OWNER DRIVER (90% of the week) and will possess the following attributes:

  • Good business value with a can-do attitude;
  • Understanding of Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility
  • Day Cabs Preferred (less than 5 years of age)

The successful applicants will have the required business knowledge and insurances certificates such as:

  • Workers Compensation
  • Public Liability
  • Trailer in Control
  • Marine (Carriers)
  • Vehicle Insurance
  • Police Check & RMS driving history to be supplied
