Are you a payroll professional looking for flexibility and a supportive workplace? Habitat Early Learning/ Thornton Group is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (6 days per fortnight).

Let's talk about the role:

We are seeking a superstar Senior Payroll Officer to join our team on a part time basis (6 days a fortnight).

Reporting to the Group Head of Finance & Commercial, and working closely with the HR Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, while contributing to the smooth operation of our busy Group.

This is a permanent, part-time role. A Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and Criminal Record Check is required for the successful applicant.

What you'll do:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll for our dedicated team
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Awards
  • Process superannuation, PAYG, leave, and entitlements
  • Provide timely payroll reporting and support to management
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior payroll role (end-to-end)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Micropay and Humanforce is ideal, but not essential
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative workplace
  • Experience working autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • The ability to be highly flexible and navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience meeting tight deadlines.
  • Experience supporting a business in Early Childhood Education desirable, but not essential.
  • A current Blue Card or ability to apply for one.
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police Check.
