Actuarial Consulting Intern

What can you expect?

An actuarial consulting internship with Mercer Investments gives you the opportunity to spend two months immersed in actuarial consulting work across defined benefit, defined contribution, insurance in superannuation and friendly societies. You will be learning consulting tools and techniques, assisting with client work, and engaging in thought leadership projects with some of the best consultants in the industry.

The paid internship runs between 24 November 2025 and 23 January 2026, with the possibility for future opportunities as a Graduate Analyst, which provides a great starting point for a career as an actuarial consultant

You will be a key team member:

What will you gain?

  • Learning new tools and techniques to generate data driven insights.

  • Supporting client teams on reporting and deliverables during the calendar year-end period.

  • Engaging in a research project on a relevant topic with a team presentation of results.

What you need to have:

  • An interest in actuarial science, and/or the superannuation and insurance industries.

  • In your penultimate year of a relevant undergraduate degree, with a view to developing a career as a consultant.

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-motivated team player.

  • Strong sense of ownership, paying attention to detail, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English and ability to present confidently.
