We're on the lookout for a Technical Sales Officer who can bring their smarts, curiosity and customer focus to the team. Someone who loves solving problems, talking tech, helping customers get exactly what they need and maybe even what they didn't know they needed.

You may have started or even finished an Engineering degree and then thought, nope, not for me and are looking for something a little left of centre or maybe you just have that mind that doesn't like to colour inside the lines but rather understand why the lines are there…. and is there a better option?

We're G.V. Kinsman, a proudly Australian owned and operated business that's been powering up the Industrial, Rail, Utility and building and construction sectors for over 50 years. We're specialists in industrial electrical products, representing some of the biggest and best known manufacturers in the world.

Our team is small but mighty (about 30) and the kind of place where everyone knows your name, you're trusted to get on with things and the coffee machine gets more of a workout than the printer. We value technical know-how, teamwork and a good laugh when things get hectic (because they will).

A bit about you...

You're probably the kind of person who can look at a customer spec sheet and immediately see what they actually need, not just what they asked for. You're organised, methodical and confident enough to say, "I'll check that and get back to you" rather than bluffing your way through it. You enjoy building long term relationships, both internally and externally, not just chasing quick wins.

You'll fit right in if you:

• Have experience selling or providing advice around technical or electrical products (or buying them, we know that side of the fence counts too)
• Have strong communication and influencing skills
• Are the kind of person who loves learning about or even having to source new products and understanding how they fit together
• Have great attention to detail, the kind that makes engineers nod approvingly
• Can interpret drawings and specs without breaking into a sweat
• Follow up customer queries, quotes or tenders like a pro, because you know persistence pays off
• Take pride in providing genuine customer service, not just ticking boxes
• Can laugh when things don't go to plan (which, let's be honest can happen to the best of us)but can also easily swing into gear and become "Super Solutions" Man/Woman/Person.
• Have great attention to detail, the kind that makes engineers nod approvingly

Bonus points if you've got an engineering background or hands on electrical experience, but if you're bright, driven and curious, we'll teach you the rest.

What you'll actually do...

• Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for LV, MV & HV terminations, joints, earthing, overhead & cabling systems along with the tools that install them
• Interpret customer drawings, work with take-offs and help customers find the right solution for their projects
• Provide technical support to internal and external sales teams as well as directly to customers
• Manage and follow up quotes, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
• Liaise with suppliers, freight companies and customers to keep orders moving
• Jump on calls, emails, online and some external meetings to deliver quick, accurate product application assistance & training
• Help develop our technical capabilities and expand GVK's reputation in the market
• Keep the wheels turning smoothly between internal sales, operations, external sales, purchasing and warehouse teams
