About the role

NovaCare is seeking a casual (2 days) Garden Maintenance Worker to start ASAP.   Actively support the individual needs of our aged customers living at home. Your commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction will ensure that our customers can live safely at home for as long as possible. Workdays will be set each week & do not change. No weekend or public holiday work.

As a highly visible representative of NovaCare, you will be responsible for delivering general garden maintenance to our customers located in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.

Skills & Requirements

  • Knowledge of Lawncare including mowing, whipper snipping and weeding
  • Basic knowledge of garden tools maintenance, changing oils, filters, mower blades etc.
  • Ability to communicate and relate with the elderly.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to providing the best service for our customers.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, quickly and effectively.
  • Comfortable using technology including smart phones, email and internet.
  • Willingness to be responsive and flexible to changing roster and work conditions.
  • Demonstrated recognition of the demands of a customer driven service delivery model that empowers choice.
  • Pick up your Ute and tools of trade each day from the Carrington head office

You must also have the following (essential):

  • Previous experience working in a home and garden role.
  • Physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Current NSW drivers' licence
  • Yearly FLU Vaccination
  • Willingness to complete a criminal history check and preplacement medical.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Lawn mowing maintenance and edging
  • Garden weeding
  • Water pressure cleaning paths and driveways
