What you'll be doing
As the Clinical Lead of the WSLHD Safeguards Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering early intervention mental health services for children and adolescents aged 0–17. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in providing rapid, mobile, and flexible care across diverse community settings.
- Provide expert operational leadership and clinical supervision to the Safeguards Team
- Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-focused care through various modalities including face-to-face, telehealth, and phone
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery
- Maintain a clinical load or offer specialist consultancy in your area of expertise
- Drive quality improvement, strategic planning, and service evaluation initiatives
- Supported by additional Ministry of Health training opportunities including family systems, single session therapy, and ASD. Supervision is offered both in a team and individual format by experienced Child and Adolescent professionals.

Essential Requirements:
- Qualification: Tertiary qualification in a clinical health field of Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy with a minimum experience at Level 4 for Health Professionals.
- Registration: Registration in line with Award requirements: Full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Clinical Psychologist or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker. (Registered Nurse requires at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the position.
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications and relevant professional registration/membership with requisite experience and demonstrated ability to satisfy the award requirements for either: Clinical Nurse Consultant Level 2, Clinical Psychologist: Senior Psychologist; Occupational Therapist Level 4 or Social Worker Level 4.
- Extensive experience as a clinician in providing assessment and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to children and young people experiencing mental health problems, including acute care.
- Demonstrated capacity in leading a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated skills in partnership development and negotiation with a wide range of service providers and well-developed understanding of the interface between services.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes with other staff.
- Current unrestricted NSW drivers' licence and the willingness to drive for work purposes.
