At Vance Finance, we are shaking up the market as the go-to lender for quick, flexible real property finance and we are looking for an Associate Director – Business Development to drive our next phase of expansion.
Vance has a young and dynamic office based in Darling Harbour with easy access to public transport. This is a full time in office role with the flexibility to tailor it to your day.
The role
- Develop and implement internal policy's, processes and systems to increase efficiency, quality of work and improve your team's effectiveness.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with brokers across Australia.
- Drive market engagement and ensure Vance is front of mind for fast and complex transactions.
- Attend and network industry events nationwide and occasionally overseas.
- Engage directly with business owners across different industries to become their trusted partner for all their real property finance needs.
- Manage, train & develop a team of intelligent and capable BDM's, including team expansion, performance management and team synergy.
- Onboard and support brokers to our portfolio to maximise product performance and service outcomes.
- Develop new innovative ideas and capture emerging opportunities for long term business growth.
- Work collaboratively with Legal, Finance and Operational staff to maximise organisational development outcomes.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar sales manager role. 5 years+ Industry experience or 7 years Sales Management experience in alternative industry.
- Experience in non-bank lending (preferred however not mandatory).
- A natural relationship builder who thrives on building and maintaining networks.
- Top performer, competitive, driven and passionate about the finance and property market.
- Strong broker network particularly in second mortgages, complex first mortgage transaction and multi layered asset security.
- Proven track record in driving sales growth and business profitability
- Comfortable using and analysing data and liaising with multiple stakeholders and producing market and competitor analysis
- Creating, defining and implementing business objectives
- Accountable, reliable, disciplined and organised.

This role offers above market base salary for a candidate with a diverse skill set with the added benefit of commission and bonuses with no earning ceiling.
Expectations
To be considered for this role, you must possess a high degree of written, spoken and numeracy skills. You will be expected to be fast and thorough with your internal and external engagement when managing deal flow and sales targets. You will need to travel at times and expected to seize opportunities after hours for dinners and events to maintain engagement with your network. Applicants with less experience or from a different industry will be expected to show their education and technical development and link this to their ability to perform the role in a cover letter.
