About us
St Brendan's Catholic Primary School aims to develop the "whole" child – intellectually, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually. Opened in January 2015, St Brendan's offers state of the art facilities designed to promote learning and embrace our local environment. Our classrooms have been created to ensure students and teachers have the resources and space they require on their learning journey.
Your Role
Our school is seeking a vibrant, efficient, and energetic person for the position of Finance Officer. This is a term-time continuing position for 38hpw (8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday), commencing from 12 January 2026 (as negotiated with the successful applicant).
The Finance Officer will apply a depth of knowledge and a broad range of skills which facilitate the financial management and administration of the school.
Duties performed include, but are not limited to:
- Practising confidentiality in relation to all aspects of the role
- Providing administrative support to senior management of the school where discretion and judgement are required, including: initiating and handling correspondence (which may include confidential correspondence); monitoring telephone calls; and establishing and/or maintaining working filing systems
- Within a variety of routines, methods and procedures providing significant assistance in the preparation and analysis of; financial information to trial balance; budgets; profit and loss reports; balance sheet reports; trading activity reports; cash management analysis; purchasing control procedures, prepare monthly summaries of debtors and creditors ledger transactions and reconciliations (NOTE an employee is not required to perform all duties listed to satisfy this skill descriptor)
- Applying knowledge of advanced functions of computer software packages and managing data
- Training staff classified at lower levels by means of personal instruction and demonstration

- A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
