More About This Role
We are seeking a Systems Specialist to work with one of Australia's most loved Airlines, Jetstar Airways. dnata Catering & Retail is contracted as the Retail Management Partner (RMP) to supply and oversee the management of Inflight Retail and associated services, to Jetstar (JQ) Group Airlines, Jetstar Airways, Jetstar Asia, and Jetstar Japan.
As their chosen national catering partner, we service both their domestic and international routes and heavily collaborate with them on planning, ordering, delivering and setup of their cabin galleys onboard their entire fleet of craft.
In a Nutshell
The role of Systems Specialist, Jetstar Retail, will lead and manage the Galley Load Planning (GLP) systems and processes across the Jetstar group inflight operations, ensuring accurate, efficient and cost effective loading configurations. The role is key to maintaining data integrity, supporting system integrations, and collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in catering and inflight service operations.
What Would a Typical Day Involve?
- Maintain all systems management and data integrity
- Be the SME for integrated platforms for JQ, these including Catering Management Systems/Menu Management Systems, Galley Load Plans and Retail Systems.
- Conduct data analysis to support weight and balance reporting and compliance
- Translate business requirements into IT specifications whilst managing the deployment of systems and training of operational support teams
- Manage synchronisation of load lists across airline systems, suppliers and caterers
- Maintain and regularly audit to ensure 100% data accuracy in Galley Planning specific to Product Item Master, Product Codes, Pricing and Weights.
- Create and own all flight specific Galley Load Plans (GLPs) ensuring efficient packing, loading and stowage to each cabin layout / aircraft type.
- Document all information in relation to GLP Systems, especially any changes
- Support Procurement team with stock planning and forecasts
- Support Finance team with month end reporting, investigating any discrepancies
- Support Flight Ops team with up to date data and live information on day of operations by communicating any updates or changes to GLPs
- Identify and map processes for minimising waste, and optimising sales performance
- Participate and lead all system audits that involve galley planning.
- Schedule and attend key meetings; share regular briefings on GLPs, System updates or key changes that would affect performance and crew during loading or flight.
- Work on projects or tasks actively assigned to you by your Manager/
- Build and grow relationships across both dnata and Jetstar business networks
What Do I Need to be Successful in the Role?
- Tertiary qualifications in Aviation, Logistics, Business Systems or IT
- Experience in inflight services, catering, or airline operations systems is essential.
- Expertise in Catering Management Systems, Menu Management Systems, Loading and Inventory systems (ideally within aviation)
- Strong analytical, auditing and project management skills
- Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI Tools, preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage cross function stakeholders
- Ability to obtain a clear National Police Check and ASIC License (at our cost)
- Understanding of aircraft loading principles and aviation regulatory standards (CASA/IATA)
