Justin Lane established in 2011 is one of Burleigh Heads' most iconic venues, celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere, handcrafted Italian-inspired dishes, and contemporary Mediterranean flavours. We're a high-energy, high-volume restaurant that thrives on passion, teamwork, and delivering an unforgettable dining experience.

We're now seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our dynamic kitchen team and continue driving culinary excellence across all areas of our operation.

About the Role

As Head Chef at Justin Lane, you'll oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in every dish. You'll bring strong leadership to a talented team, inspiring excellence and teamwork in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Develop, refine, and execute menus inspired by Mediterranean and Italian traditions
  • Uphold the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Manage ordering, inventory, and cost control effectively
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members to foster a positive kitchen culture
  • Collaborate with management to deliver an exceptional guest experience

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Head Chef in a high-volume, quality restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively in a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for fresh, seasonal ingredients and innovative menu design
