Our Communications and Engagement team is currently seeking to appoint a Director Media and Social Relations to play a pivotal role in leading the function
As the Director Media and Social Relations you will play an important role in defining the Department's public voice, ensuring its reputation is safeguarded, and its narrative is strategically aligned with Government priorities.
You will provide expert media and social media guidance to the Executive and provide strategic support to the Minister's offices.
About You
You will have extensive experience leading proactive and responsive media across print, digital, social and broadcast media, from strategy to evaluation.
As a leader, you excel at building and maintaining influential relationships, engaging senior stakeholders including Ministerial Offices with confidence and professionalism.
You have a proven track record of leading teams through periods of change, fostering a culture of collaboration, and delivering results under tight deadlines.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualification in media, journalism, communications or relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience at operating at peak industry level and advising and influencing senior management on communications and media strategy development and delivery.
- Proven record in contentious issues management and communication planning and delivery, demonstrating a high level of credibility when working with the media.
- (Experience working in energy, climate change, or environmental portfolios in a government setting is beneficial but not essential).
