Training Quality and Regulation Officer

  • Salary: Clerk 7/8 - $113,574 – $125,720 + Super + accrued leaves.

About the role

The role implements Training Services' Quality Assurance Strategy in accordance with the NSW Quality Framework to ensure the provision of quality vocational education and training by contracted Registered Training Organisations.

  • Undertaking desk audits, site visits, interviews and reviews to ensure compliance of training organisations funded under Smart and Skilled.
  • Writing evidence-based reports and recommendations to provide compliance feedback and support risk mitigation and contract management decisions.
  • Meeting with funded training organisations regarding compliance findings to support remedial actions.

About you -

  • Must have demonstrated experience in audits or regulatory compliance monitoring
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET)
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to manage competing priorities within agreed timeframes and to required standards
  • Knowledge of Smart and Skilled is advantageous
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Diploma of Quality Auditing or demonstrated equivalent experience in audits; or
  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations, preferably with the Compliance specialisation, or demonstrated equivalent experience in regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates who are not currently employed by the Department must provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. There is no requirement to renew the WWCC once it expires after five years. Employer obligations under the WWCC will apply only for the duration of its validity, up to five years.
