The Opportunity

These role positions offer the right candidates variety in their day-to-day work across both machine operation and truck driving. You will be responsible for operating a range of civil construction machinery across multiple projects in Melbourne and Greater Victoria. Flexibility, a strong safety mindset, and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities (Machine Operator)

• Operate civil construction machinery including excavators, skid steers, loaders, and rollers.
• Perform earthmoving, trenching, grading, and general site preparation works.
• Load and unload materials as needed.
• Carry out daily pre-start checks and minor maintenance on machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain accurate plant and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Follow all WHS procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Assist with general civil labouring duties when required (spotting, raking, shovelling, site clean-up).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and site crews.

What You'll Need (Machine Operator)

Essential:

• Tickets/licences for specific machinery (Excavator, Skid Steer, Loader, etc.).
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Proven experience operating civil construction machinery.
• Solid understanding of safe work practices.
• Ability to perform manual handling and contribute to broader site duties.
• Team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.

Desirable:

• Tickets/licences for specific machinery (Excavator, Skid Steer, Loader, etc.).
• Exposure to civil construction, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for machinery and vehicle upkeep.

Key Responsibilities (HR Driver)

• Operate civil construction machinery including excavators, skid steers, loaders, and rollers.
• Drive HR-class trucks to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
• Load and unload materials as needed.
• Carry out daily pre-start checks and minor maintenance on machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle logs.
• Follow all WHS procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Assist with general civil labouring duties when required (spotting, raking, shovelling, site clean-up).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and site crews.

What You'll Need (Truck Driver)

Essential:

• HR Truck Licence.
• White Card (Construction Induction).
• Experience driving HR trucks in construction or a similar setting.
• Solid understanding of safe work practices and road transport laws.
• Ability to perform manual handling and contribute to broader site duties.
• Team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills.

Desirable:

• Tickets/licences for specific machinery (Excavator, Skid Steer, Loader, etc.).
• Experience with tipper trucks and transporting heavy machinery.
• Exposure to civil construction, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for machinery and vehicle upkeep.
