D.N.K Services' is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter/ Tech to join our team in Thomastown, Victoria. This is a full-time permanent opportunity to work on critical machinery and equipment within the food manufacturing industry. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing essential production assets to support our client's operations.
What you'll be doing
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on a range of industrial machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults, and implement effective repair solutions
- Overhaul and rebuild components as required, gearboxes and vacuum pumps
- Liaise with production teams to understand equipment requirements and minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
- Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Tig Welding fabrication
- Machining parts for machines
- A company vehicle and uniform will be supplied
What we're looking for
- Formal trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a food manufacturing or processing environment
- Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with production teams
- Commitment to working safely and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance best practices and ability to document work activities
