We are looking for an experienced Customer Data & Automation Consultant to join our Marketing team for a period of 6 months.
Based in North Sydney, and reporting to the Group GM – Marketing, you will join our business at a pivotal moment where your expertise will shape the future of how we understand, manage, and activate customer data. For the next six months, we're seeking a senior specialist who thrives on turning complexity into clarity, and who can help us unlock the full potential of our customer data and automation landscape.
You'll arrive to find a business eager for transformation. We'll expect you to take a deep dive into our current customer data and automation environment, map out what's working, what's not, and where the real opportunities lie. With your seasoned eye, you'll conduct a thorough assessment, engaging with teams across Marketing, Sales, IT, and Operations to ensure every voice is heard and every process is understood. But you won't stop at diagnosis. You'll craft a Customer Data Lifecycle Strategy and Plan that sets the course for how we collect, manage, and use data—always with an eye on personalisation, efficiency, risk control, and commercial performance. Your strategy will be practical, actionable, and tailored to our unique needs.
You will also turn your attention to automation. Drawing on your hands-on experience with platforms like Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Adobe/Marketo and HubSpot, you'll design a multi-segment Automation Strategy and Roadmap. This will cover marketing, sales, and service, and will be packed with prioritised initiatives, quick wins, and a clear blueprint for implementation—including KPIs, risks, milestones, and budget.
Governance will be at the heart of your work. You'll establish frameworks to ensure data quality, compliance, and robust measurement, leaving us with a playbook that's as practical as it is comprehensive. And because you know that true transformation is sustainable, you'll provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and capability building—ensuring our teams are ready to carry the torch long after your contract concludes.
By the end of your six months, you'll have delivered a signed-off Customer Data Lifecycle Strategy & Plan, an approved Automation Strategy & Roadmap, a documented governance framework, and a suite of quick-win automations. You'll leave behind not just a plan, but a legacy of capability and confidence.
If you're ready to make a real impact in a short space of time—and enjoy working with a team that values both expertise and a friendly, collaborative approach—we'd love to hear your story.
About you
- You'll bring at least 8-10 years' experience in customer data, Dynamics 365, marketing automation leadership, with a proven track record of developing and implementing data and automation strategies.
- Your knowledge of data governance and privacy compliance will be second to none, and your communication skills will help you engage stakeholders at every level.
- You'll have significant experience as an interim or short-term contractor, with proven capability of mapping out a delivery plan and getting senior buy-in to the roadmap.
- You'll have demonstrable experience not just with strategy, but with executing quick wins
Most importantly, you'll be someone who delivers - on time, to executive audiences, and with a collaborative spirit
