Your duties as
Laboratory Operations Specialist
*include but are not limited to the following:*
- Prepare, process, analyze, and store genetic or tissue samples accurately according to SOPs and laboratory quality standards.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, including biosafety cabinets, incubators, centrifuges, sequencers, and other specialized equipment; coordinate external maintenance and calibration services when needed.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and optimizing SOPs and laboratory protocols to improve workflow efficiency, quality, and scalability of operations.
- Maintain laboratory inventories, place purchase orders, track deliveries, and liaise with vendors to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations.
- Oversee daily laboratory activities, including safety compliance, facility management, and preparation for internal or external audits.
- Provide guidance and operational support to new laboratory staff, including safety induction, SOP training, and hands-on mentoring.
- Assist with company-level administrative tasks such as documentation, record keeping, meeting coordination, office procurement, and cross-department communication.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between laboratory and corporate teams, contribute to process improvements, and support initiatives that enhance overall operational efficiency.
The successful candidates for this position are able to demonstrate:、
- A Bachelor degree in Biotechnology or an equivalent science qualification;
- Relevant laboratory experience and skills.
- Knowledge and experience in genetics and genomics with special emphasis on next generation sequencing, high-throughput genotyping;
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues within the laboratory environment
- Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to policies and practices and understand quality management system requirements
- Excellent data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Experience in managing and performing laboratory-based activities from multiple research projects;
- A positive can-do attitude and commitment to producing high level performance outcomes
- Proficient in English and Mandarin
