We're seeking an Assistant Accountant to support our finance operations across our two exciting businesses, Andros Barker's Australia and the Barker's Foodstore & Eatery Australia. About the Role

As our Assistant Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting financial operations, including preparing financial statements, processing invoices, managing GST and BAS returns, and assisting with month-end and year-end accounts. You'll work closely with internal teams and external auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile sales and intercompany transactions
  • Assist with budgeting, reporting, and tax returns (GST/BAS)
  • Support month-end and year-end financial close
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and monthly reporting
  • Collaborate with sales managers on trade spend analysis

What You'll Bring

  • Diploma in Accounting or equivalent training
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (especially Excel), MYOB, and XERO
  • Solid understanding of P&L and balance sheets
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
