About Us:

Arqus Design is a multi-disciplinary architecture studio based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, near the vibrant Howard Smith Wharves precinct. The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Graduate of architecture to join our team. This full-time role is ideal for a recent architecture graduate with 1-2 years of experience, or a master's student finishing studies at the end of this year. You will be an integral part of our project teams, working on both large and small scale projects through all stages; from concept design and 3D modelling to detailed documentation and site visits. You will work closely under our Director and Project Team Leaders, gaining hands on experience and mentorship as you develop your skills. We are a Revit based office, so you will be producing detailed technical drawings in Revit and contributing to design discussions daily. If you are a proactive designer who loves to think outside the box and multitask across projects, this is a great opportunity. There is no firm start date – we are ready to bring the right person on board as soon as they are available, and we are focused on finding someone who is the right fit for our team and studio culture.

About You – Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in architecture, or equivalent (or near completion) and preferably 2 years minimum studio experience.
  • Design and Technical Skills: Proficient in Revit and can confidently produce detailed construction drawings in line with our office standards. Familiarity with other design tools such as twin motion, adobe creative suite is a bonus. A good eye for design and attention to detail in documentation, along with a solid understanding of building codes and construction techniques.
  • Revit Proficiency: Intermediate level proficiency in Revit is required for producing detailed construction drawings to our office standards.
  • Adaptable and shows Initiative: An all rounder who is eager to work on multiple project types and switch tasks as needed. Is committed to achieving deadlines and follows up on project tasks to keep things moving.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude. You enjoy working in a team environment and contributing ideas. You are open to feedback and passionate about learning from others.
  • Organizational skills: capable of planning your work, prioritizing tasks and meeting agreed timeframes. Self-motivated and proactive – someone who takes initiative when you see something needs doing.
  • Additional: A positive mindset and a good sense of humour will fit well with our studio culture.

What We Offer:

  • Mentorship and Growth: You will be mentored by our Director and Senior Leaders, helping you develop towards registration. We offer real responsibility on projects with guidance to support you.
  • Diverse Projects: Experience a broad exposure to various project phases and typologies – we ensure our graduates get to learn all aspects of the practice.
  • Team culture: A friendly close-knit team that values collaboration. We hold regular design workshops and team check ins, and we celebrate our successes. Our studio's philosophy is that you must love what you do to produce your best work – we stand by that belief.
  • Work-Life Balance: While this is a full-time role, we understand that life doesn't always fit neatly into a schedule. We aim to support our team when flexibility is needed to manage personal commitments, and we work together to find solutions that keep projects moving and people supported.
  • Location and amenities: An awesome location in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, close to cafes, parks and public transport. Enjoy working in a creative precinct with great coffee spots nearby.
