Executive and Portfolio Assistant

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Executive and Portfolio Assistant to join our dedicated team.

Location: Fitzory

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $90, $97,875.15 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 12% superannuation.

About the role

The Executive and Portfolio Assistant role provides high-level administrative, coordination and cultural support to the Director, First Nations Strategy and Outcomes and the broader First Nations Strategy and Outcomes team.

  • Prioritise, redirect, and respond to incoming correspondence, and manage the Director's diary effectively.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, purchase orders, invoices, purchase/maintain stationery and reconcile credit card statements.
  • Provide confidential administrative support services, including maintaining registers, databases, distribution lists, and correspondence.
  • Organise meetings and events across the portfolio, including booking venues, liaising with suppliers, preparing agendas, distributing papers, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and coordinating site tours or presentations.
  • Assist with the administration and reporting of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing a range of confidential administrative support services to senior leaders.
  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of independence, initiative and accountability, as well as collaboratively as a team.
  • Experience working with First Nations Communities; understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander protocols and culture; knowledge of the issues and barriers facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated, proactive approach to anticipating requirements, taking initiative and providing effective solutions.
