Primary objective
This role will govern and lead innovation and clinical excellence to establish the Top End Health Region Service as a highly reliable
organisation. The role contributes to the development of an integrated team and culture, workforce learning and development, fosters a
culture of patient safety awareness, continuous improvement, service improvement and clinical innovation initiatives. This role is pivotal
in developing and enhancing integrated care for patient-centred excellence in care to improve patient outcomes and performance of the
health service. The position reports directly to the Executive Director Medical Services, Integrated Care Division.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the human and financial resources of the areas of responsibility within Innovation and Excellence, including effective
leadership to achieve Health outcomes.
2. Provide high level leadership, guidance, mentoring and support within Innovation and Excellence to ensure continued growth and
development of teams.
3. Plays a critical role in leading the decision making process for programs, policies, initiatives and strategic operational planning across
the organisation.
4. Lead planning and processes to foster a culture of continuous improvement and service enhancement across the organisations and
driving clinical innovation initiatives that integrate and streamline care processes.
- Ensures all elements of the strategy fit together and contribute to higher level organisational goals.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
7. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. A recognised qualification in the relevant health discipline and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration
and/or eligibility for full membership of relevant professional Association.
2. Knowledge and experience in successfully leading and applying the concepts of patient safety, the principles and practices of quality
improvement, risk management and accreditation frameworks and their application in a health service.
3. High level knowledge of leadership and management practices that support the achievement of business outcomes.
4. Knowledge and proven ability in project management, change management and service integration in a health context, with the ability
to prioritise and handle multiple projects.
5. Demonstrated high level ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and to engage clinical leaders to successfully support change in a
dynamic environment.
6. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and consultation skills, with the proven ability to interact effectively with
people from diverse cultures, communicate with influence, maintain confidentiality, liaise, collaborate and negotiate outcomes.
7. Master's degree in Health leadership, clinical governance or equivalent relevant to this position.
