About the Centre/Service

Yarra Warra Preschool is a sessional kindergarten, operating across two learning spaces, the kindergarten facility and the outdoor bush kinder. Yarra Warra is located in a unique bushland setting overlooking the banks of the Yarra River in North Warrandyte on Wurundjeri Country. The service is managed by a volunteer Committee of Management (Committee) which is made up of parents of children attending the programs, who share in the Yarra Warra's vision and values to deliver a high-quality early childhood education program. We offer funded kindergarten programs for children aged three and four years, an extended care program and bush kindergarten. We are committed to the Child Safe Standards, maintaining a child safe environment and have zero tolerance of child abuse. Description

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic Cert III Educator to join one of our 3 year old groups starting Term This permanent part time role is for three days, Monday, Wednesday afternoon and Friday with paid school holidays. The key purpose of this role is to work in collaboration with our teacher in delivering our high-quality program that nurtures the growth and development of children, both in the kinder room and the bush kinder program. Our ideal candidate is someone who;

• is passionate about bush kinder, and working with children, families and the community
• has demonstrated skills and experience in working in an Early Childhood and Care setting
• has a proven ability to be flexible and foster a cohesive team working environment
• has well-developed interpersonal skills and empathy
• is able to understand and work with the individual needs of children, and children with diverse abilities
• demonstrates initiative and confidence
• demonstrates effective time management skills to plan and undertake their work
• has the ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
• is committed to self-reflection and ongoing professional development, and continuous quality improvement of the education program.

Qualifications

You must hold an ACEQUA approved qualification - Certificate III in Children's services or Diploma of Early Childhood Education. Applicants working towards Certificate III or Diploma qualifications may also apply.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake Mandatory Reporting training annually and demonstrate their commitment to providing a child safe environment. Please supply at least two referees when submitting applications and previous work history details.
