Why work with us:
Every child and young person deserves a great education.
We have a strategy that aims to unlock every child's potential now and into the future, one that in partnership with learners, students, parents and the wider South Australian community will build a world-leading public education system. One that is equitable and prioritises learning and wellbeing.
Together we will make our education system the best it can be. When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.
About the Role:
The Employee Management Team plays a critical role in supporting leaders and employees in effectively addressing unsatisfactory performance, minor misconduct and incapacity matters, managing employee complaints and internal review requests, as well as supporting unplaced employees across the department.
In this HR/Team Coordinator role you will draw on your HR administrative knowledge and passion for delivering positive customer outcomes to deliver effective administrative support for the broader team functions of Performance Support, the Ethical Conduct Unit and the Case Management Unit. Monitoring the team's various communication channels, you will review and assess the nature of enquiries, provide appropriate guidance and response, and distribute workflows across the broader team as required. The capturing, assessment and timely reporting of sensitive data to a broad range of stakeholders is a key feature.
Whilst working in a supportive and collaborative team environment, this role has the scope for you to contribute and deliver on continuous improvement initiatives and provide you with insight into operations of key aspects of the employee lifecycle, with the aim of achieving positive outcomes for our schools, employees and students. This is an ideal opportunity for an HR Administrator or for someone seeking to utilise their studies and gain additional exposure in a dynamic, people-centred HR function.
Members of the Employee Management Team are required to maintain high levels of confidentiality, professionalism and ethical conduct. The work can be intensive, time pressured, challenging and at times politically sensitive - but as a supportive and engaging team, we achieve great things.
Qualifications:
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: Relevant qualification in Human Resources or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. Knowledge and appreciation of the Department for Education purpose, strategic direction and operations.
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
