About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join our team. The HR Coordinator supports the full employee lifecycle and ensures compliance across HR processes. This role manages HR documentation, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations activities. It requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment such as aviation.
Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an experienced and passionate HR Coordinator to join our growing team. Some of the key duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Employee Relations & Compliance Support
- Implement workplace policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and preliminary investigations.
- Provide guidance on HR and industrial relations matters in line with the Fair Work Act, NES, and relevant Awards or Enterprise Agreements.
- Help coordinate consultative committees and maintain accurate meeting records.
2. Policy, Projects & Workplace Initiatives
- Contribute to HR and ER projects such as engagement surveys, diversity initiatives, and compliance reporting.
- Assist with the review and rollout of HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in workplace relations projects (e.g. gender equality reporting, policy audits).
- Support continuous improvement of HR systems, documentation, and internal workflows.
3. HR Operations
- Provide administrative and advisory support across recruitment, onboarding, promotions, contract variations, probation, and terminations.
- Maintain HR and employee records, databases, and templates, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare employment contracts, variation letters, and related documentation.
- Manage the HR mailbox and respond to employee and manager queries promptly.
- Generate and maintain HR and payroll reports to support workforce planning and compliance.
4. Recruitment, Onboarding & Training
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling.
- Liaise with hiring managers to align recruitment activities with workforce requirements.
- Oversee onboarding, induction, and exiting processes, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
- Assign and monitor Computer-Based Training (CBT) and probation review processes.
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in HR coordination or administration within a fast-paced, multi-site organisation.
- Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, and Modern Awards, with the ability to interpret and apply employment conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident working across HR and payroll systems.
Desirable
- Experience in the aviation industry or another highly regulated environment.
- Exposure to enterprise bargaining, grievance management, or workplace investigations.
- Familiarity with HRIS and document management systems (e.g. Chris21, ADP, SharePoint, or OneDrive).
