Longtrail Farms is currently looking for a full time Potato Grading Supervisor to join our team located in Parilla, Southern Mallee. This hands-on position is responsible for undertaking and supervising accurate and safe horticultural potato grading. Ensuring the team is high-performing and safety focused is essential whilst delivering to operational requirements of the farm.

About the role:


• Reporting to the Potato Operations Manager, you will undertake and provide supervision of staff handling horticultural products ensuring the adherence of safety policies including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.


• You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the load, leading the team on discarding inferior or defective potatoes or foreign matter during active potato harvest operations.


• You will need to ensure timely management of the load, all required paperwork for transport, and communicating on behalf of the team to management.


• This role involves a lot of physical work requiring considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.


• There will be times when this role will undertake general farm duties including but not limited to livestock and broadacre cropping operations to ensure all farm operations have appropriate back-up and coverage across the team.

• You will be able and willing to meet the physical demands of the position


• You will have a positive attitude, strong initiative and work ethic


• You will be flexible to work weekends and extended hours through busy periods

Parilla is within 20 minutes from both Lameroo and Pinnaroo towns which have strong communities with a variety of sports clubs and schooling available. Longtrail has housing available.
