Receptionist Geelong - Hester Hornbrook Academy We are seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our school community. This role provides high-quality customer service to students, parents, carers, and visitors while supporting the wider administration team.

Hester Hornbrook Academy Hester Hornbrook Academy is a registered Special Assistance School dedicated to "Wellbeing for Learning and Learning for Wellbeing." We are values-driven and trauma-informed, delivering flexible, inclusive education to young people aged 15–25 across multiple campuses in Greater Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Manage reception tasks including calls, enquiries, visitor management, and general administration.
  • Support enrolments and student services processes, including Myki, PTV cards, funding, and applications.
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry across school systems (Sentral, Canvas, Teams).
  • Provide first aid and wellbeing support, fostering engagement and inclusion through our HOPE model (Engage, Equip, Empower, Extend).
  • Assist with campus events, excursions, and school activities, contributing to a positive school culture.
  • Uphold child safety standards, compliance, and school policies at all times.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and legislation relevant to secondary school settings.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to use and learn school systems (e.g. Sentral, Canvas, DigiStorm).
  • Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a school environment.
  • Flexible, collaborative approach with strong organisational skills to manage competing demands.
  • Experience supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQI and those with complex needs, with an understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
  • Commitment to professional growth, teamwork, and upholding child safety, duty of care, and organisational policies.

Essential Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee), National Police Check, and valid Driver's Licence.
  • Proof of identity and right to work in Australia.
  • Other relevant registrations (e.g. VIT, AHPRA) as applicable.
