The opportunity
Support the delivery of innovative, inclusive, and community-focused library services, with a strong emphasis on engaging children, young people, and families. Plan and evaluate programs, outreach, and collections that align with Council values and strategic goals, while supervising staff and volunteers, acting as Senior on Duty when required, and collaborating across departments to enhance service delivery and community participation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing family engagement and learning programs
  • Providing high-quality customer service and support
  • Managing library collections and public access resources
  • Promoting literacy, outreach, and onsite activities
  • Supporting team development and continuous improvement

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Libraries, Community Development, Education or related field, or lesser formal qualifications with relevant work experience
  • A current Victorian driver's licence
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering, and promoting community-based programs, especially those involving children, young people, and families
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and adapt across formats and audiences
  • Capable of managing workloads independently, resolving customer enquiries effectively, and contributing to team processes with high-level digital proficiency

Pre-Employment Requirements
