Team Leader Enhanced Maternal and Child Health

The opportunity
The Team Leader EMCH is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and day-to-day management of the Enhanced MCH Program. The position provides supervision and professional guidance to MCH Nurses, a Social Worker, and Family Support Workers, ensuring the program is delivered in line with the Enhanced Maternal and Child Health Program Guidelines (State of Victoria, 2019) and the broader Maternal and Child Health Service Framework
This role works closely with the Coordinator Community Child Health and other Maternal and Child Health Team Leaders to ensure effective and integrated service delivery, quality improvement, data reporting, and strategic planning. It is also expected to build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a responsive, high-quality service for families with children aged 0–6 years.
What You'll Do
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the Enhanced MCH Program
- Provide supervision and professional guidance to EMCH team members
- Monitor and report on program performance in line with service agreements and targets
- Oversee CDIS data management and ensure accurate reporting to the Department of Health
- Contribute to development and review of procedures, policies, and service planning
- Support and guide MCH staff with secondary consultations related to vulnerable families
- Build collaborative partnerships with local service providers to support family wellbeing
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
What You'll Need To Succeed
- Current registration as a nurse, midwife, and Maternal and Child Health Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience working in the Enhanced MCH Program
- Strong understanding of child and family services, particularly supporting vulnerable families
- Possesses skills or a strong drive to learn in relation to operations management, people leadership and budgeting
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers
- Is excited to learn about the above areas and progress their experience, skills, and career opportunities
