About The Role
This volunteer role supports the Y's mission to provide civic education for young people. As a Taskforce Committee Advisor, you'll mentor Youth Parliament participants in the Canberra region, helping with communication, management, events, and program content.
What You'll Do
- Mentor and support Youth Parliament participants
- Assist with bill writing, workshops, and community consultations
- Oversee committee communication, content, speeches, and presentations
- Run training sessions and workshops
- Supervise and support participant wellbeing
- Help deliver events, training weekends, and sitting week
- Promote respect, inclusivity, and safe environments for all young people
Time commitment
- 1–2 days per fortnight during the program
- Mandatory: Sitting week (5 days), Launch event, and Training weekends
