As Principal Statutory Planner, you\ll play a pivotal role working across impactful projects that support sustainable development, enhance community wellbeing, and drive smart, integrated growth. You will make an impact by

• Leading complex statutory planning projects that drive sustainable economic growth.
• Providing expert advice to internal teams, developers, and the community.
• Representing Council at VCAT and other forums with professionalism and confidence.
• Mentoring and supporting team members to build capability and improve service delivery.
• Collaborating with Economic Development to unlock strategic opportunities for growth.

What you will bring

• Tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in statutory planning within the Victorian planning system.
• Strong understanding of the social, environmental, and economic context of interface councils.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and consultant teams.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• A collaborative and adaptable working style with a focus on outcomes.
• Confidence in preparing and presenting reports, briefings, and submissions.
