THE OPPORTUNITY
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the Project Manager and broader project team in delivering all components of the Keeping Cats Safe at Home Phase 2 project in accordance with the approved business plan, ensuring activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including RSPCA NSW Communications, Digital, Education and Outreach teams, local councils, veterinary clinics, animal welfare and wildlife organisations, and community members.
- Coordinate and participate in community engagement activities, such as community events, stakeholder meetings, focus groups, and educational outreach, to promote responsible cat ownership and encourage participation in project initiatives.
- Assist with financial and administrative tasks, including managing project accounts, processing payments, and maintaining financial records in accordance with project funding guidelines and organisational procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including stakeholder correspondence, activity logs, and monitoring and evaluation data to support reporting and learning across the life of the project.
- Provide flexible support across the project team and undertake additional duties as directed by the Project Manager
- A strong personal commitment to animal welfare and a passion for working with people and their companion animals.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently with a high level of motivation and accountability.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with a wide range of community members and stakeholders.
- Experience contributing to community engagement, social marketing, education, or other public-facing projects—ideally in an animal welfare, environmental, or local government context.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including local councils, veterinarians, and community organisations.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and solve problems to deliver high-quality outcomes within time and budget constraints.
- High attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records, documentation, and data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, education, environmental management, animal welfare, or a related field are highly regarded but not essential.
- The ability to undertake regular work-related travel within NSW, and occasional work outside standard business hours, including weekends.
