Our businesses are looking for a motivated, self starter, who can work in a team and independently, who can follow instruction and has great attention for detail; who enjoys data entry, data reconciling and analysis of financial data. A person who is honest, accountable and a very good communicator is needed.
The position is fulltime based in our Toowoomba office, located at Withcott, and works with all businesses across all offices.
The purpose of this position is to assist our Finance Officer and Managing Director and to provide project related financial support to the businesses. Specifically, you will assist with project finance, administrative and general tasks as delegated. Therefore, experience with finance-related tasks and any electronic finance package is essential. A sound knowledge and an ability to work with numbers is essential, as you will be taught to use our systems. Basic office knowledge is an advantage.
Note: This position may require some overnight travel to our Armidale office, two to four times a year.
**Duties for this position, include**:
- Assist our Operations Manager checking project budgets; analysis against budget, vs actual, post mortems;
- Assist with office and project procurement;
- Assist with reception, data entry and administration duties; as directed;
- Assist Asset Manager with asset reporting;
- Assist with bank reconciliations, and finance reporting, if required;
- Assist with insurance renewals, as required;
- Assist staff with systems project closure and archive; if required;
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, as required; liaison with clients, government and associate bodies;
- Positively liaise with, and maintain, cooperative relationships with clients, government agency staff, and peers.
- Learn to use and comply with our ISO 9001 systems.

**Formal Qualifications and Experience Required**:
- Experience with finance related tasks is essential - a basic knowledge and an ability to work with numbers is essential; experience with a MYOB, Great Plains, or similar finance package is required; you will be taught to use our systems;
- Qualifications in one or more of Business Studies and/or a finance related certificate, is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years in an Australian professional consultancy, or technical service industry is preferred.
- Current Open driver's license (manual vehicle) is necessary.
- A COVID vaccination record is essential.
- First Aid certificate, is preferred.
**Selection Criteria**
- A proactive self-starter; motivated, with the ability to self-manage, but also to take direction from others;
- Proven experience in the private or service industry in the administrative and finance area;
- Proven understanding of budgeting, procurement and basic finance processes;
- Effective and willing communicator; orally, and in writing;
- Proven ability to manage time and prioritise tasks with competing interests to meet deadlines.
