We are actively seeking an energetic and strategically minded Business Development Manager to join our growing team. This critical position is focused on expanding our market share and accelerating revenue generation within the dynamic cold storage industry. We are looking for an individual who not only thinks strategically but also possesses acute commercial insight, capable of identifying fresh opportunities while simultaneously cultivating enduring client relationships.
Responsibilities
As our Business Development Manager, your primary duties will encompass:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Formulating and executing strategic sales blueprints to meet and surpass revenue targets.
- Opportunity Generation: Proactively identifying and pursuing new commercial ventures through in-depth market analysis, effective lead generation, and targeted outreach initiatives.
- Client Relationship Nurturing: Building and sustaining robust relationships with key clients to ensure exceptional levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Collaborative Solution Delivery: Working seamlessly across departments, including operations, marketing, and finance, to deliver bespoke cold storage solutions that precisely address client requirements. This includes:
Temperature Monitoring & Maintenance Liaison: Understanding and articulating the importance of stringent temperature control.
- Regular Temperature Checks: Collaborating with operations to ensure routine checks of temperature and humidity levels in cold storage areas align with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshooting Temperature Issues: Liaising with relevant teams to identify and facilitate the resolution of any deviations from required temperature ranges, which may involve adjusting equipment or coordinating with maintenance personnel.
- Preventative Maintenance: Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to understand and communicate the scheduling of regular maintenance and calibration of refrigeration equipment to prevent potential temperature fluctuations and ensure service reliability.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Continuously monitoring and reporting on sales performance metrics, market trends, and competitor activities to inform and refine overall business strategy.
- Contract Negotiation: Leading and successfully concluding contract negotiations to secure profitable agreements that align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Brand Advocacy: Representing the company at prominent industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to bolster brand visibility and strengthen market positioning.
- Strategic Insights: Providing valuable, actionable insights to senior leadership to continuously refine sales methodologies and foster ongoing improvement.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A demonstrated history of success in B2B sales or business development. Experience within the cold storage, logistics, or closely related sectors is essential.
- Exceptional commercial acumen, evidenced by a proven ability to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Outstanding negotiation and relationship management capabilities, coupled with the ability to effectively influence key decision-makers.
- A strategic mindset, adept at analysing complex market data and pinpointing lucrative growth opportunities.
- Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- A valid driver's license and a willingness to undertake travel as required.
- A bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related discipline is advantageous, though not strictly essential.
