Management Accountant and Business Services Accountant

We're a small, highly experienced team who love what we do, and we're looking for a Management Accountant and a Business Services Accountant to join us in Darwin. These roles are flexible and can be shaped around your skills and experience — from intermediate through to senior level.

Management Accountant

What you'll do

• Prepare management reports using modern reporting and analytics tools to deliver clear insights
• Work with clients to develop budgets and financial forecasts
• Work with clients to meet their compliance obligations for GST and employment taxes
• Support clients on their cloud-based accounting ledgers (management accounting, payroll setup, system optimisation)
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and data entry, including for complex organisations such as not-for-profits managing multiple grant programs
• Provide insights that support smarter business decisions
• Collaborate with Partners to deliver Virtual CFO and business advisory solutions

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant (or similar role)
• Proficiency in cloud-based accounting applications, particularly Xero
• Experience with GST and employment tax compliance
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Independent and proactive, while also a strong team player
• Experience with not-for-profits and grant accounting/reporting will be highly regarded
• Strong technology skills and ability to adapt to new accounting technologies, apps, and reporting tools
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related field
• CA/CPA (or working towards) desirable

Business Services Accountant

What you'll do

• Prepare financial statements, tax returns, supporting workpapers, BAS/IAS
• Support clients with GST, employment tax, and compliance obligations
• Work with clients on their cloud-based accounting ledgers (Xero essential)
• Assist with tax planning, structuring advice, and compliance reviews
• Draft advice for Partner review and liaise with regulators as needed
• Coach and support junior staff, sharing knowledge and building capability

What we're looking for

• Experience in public practice accounting, with a focus on tax compliance and financial reporting
• Strong skills in tax return software (e.g., Xero Tax or similar) and financial statement preparation
• Proficiency in Xero; MYOB/QuickBooks experience desirable
• Familiarity with ATO portals and compliance processes
• Knowledge of Australian taxation law; exposure to CGT, FBT, and trusts highly regarded
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related field
• CA/CPA (or working towards) desirable
