As a leader in nursing education at the University of Melbourne, you'll have the opportunity to shape the Master of Nursing Science entry to practice course. You'll drive curriculum development, deliver innovative educational programmes, and contribute to the scholarship of learning and teaching in nursing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead Curriculum Development and Teaching: Develop and deliver innovative nursing education programmes using online and blended modes, ensuring quality placements and applying contemporary pedagogical approaches.
- Advance Nursing Scholarship: Contribute to evidence-based practice in nursing programmes and lead scholarly outputs to enhance nursing education.
- Provide Educational Leadership: Participate in departmental planning, engage in professional development, and build a local profile in nursing education through community involvement.
- Ensure Programme Quality: Coordinate subjects and courses, review student satisfaction, and participate in peer review of teaching to maintain high educational standards.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a registered nurse with a PhD, demonstrating excellence in nursing education leadership, curriculum development, and a commitment to furthering inter-professional learning and practice.
You may also:
- Be a registered nurse with AHPRA and hold a PhD in nursing.
- Have experience in delivering nursing programmes and coordinating curriculum development.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to ethical scholarship and valuing diversity.
- Have a post-graduate qualification in university teaching (desirable).
- Show evidence of an established profile in the scholarship of learning and teaching (desirable).

Established in 2009, the Melbourne School of Heath Sciences is an inter-professional learning community at the forefront of leadership in health sciences education, clinical research, scholarship, professional practice, workforce training and knowledge exchange that contributes to local, national and global efforts to improve health and wellbeing. The Health Sciences School educates graduate entry and post-graduate students in the disciplines of Nursing, Social Work, Physiotherapy and other non-medical health sciences through accredited programs tailored to workforce needs nationally and internationally. The School provides national and international health sciences students with professional training to enable them to be competent and effective health professionals who are work ready, eligible for registration. It also delivers professional education courses and training for the health sciences professions and builds strong relationships and active programs of interaction with the alumni in each discipline.
