Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential to our operations, managing contract documentation, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and facilitating smooth project delivery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects from contract inception through to completion.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Alternatively, extensive relevant experience in contract administration within the construction industry

Experience:

  • Minimum 1+ years experience in contract administration, preferably in residential construction
  • Proven experience with construction contracts, variations, and claims management
  • Strong knowledge of Australian construction industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with contract management software and documentation systems

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Knowledge of construction law and contractual principles
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Professional membership with relevant industry associations
  • Experience with residential building codes and standards
  • Knowledge of Western Australian building regulations
  • Familiarity with Master Builders Association contracts
  • Previous experience in the home building industry

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer construction contracts and subcontractor agreements
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications
  • Monitor contract variations, extensions of time, and claims management
  • Maintain comprehensive contract registers and documentation systems
  • Prepare and process contract variations and progress payment certificates
  • Coordinate contract correspondence between clients, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all contractual documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of contract amendments and modifications
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and construction teams
  • Coordinate contract deliverables and milestone achievements
  • Support tender preparation and contract negotiation processes
  • Assist with project scheduling and resource allocation
  • Process progress payments and final account settlements
  • Monitor contract budgets and financial performance
  • Prepare cost reports and variance analyses
  • Coordinate with accounting team for invoicing and payment processing
  • Identify and assess contractual risks and potential disputes
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and compliance measures
  • Coordinate insurance requirements and warranty obligations
  • Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety contractual provisions
