Adelaide, South Australia Department for Environment and Water Full time $58,709 - $63,354 per year

The Field Officer contributes to the implementation and delivery of works programs, projects and activities which assist with the effective operational management of parks and reserves within the District. Core responsibilities surround the management of parks and reserves, implementing works programs that contribute to the presentation of park functions and assets to ensure they provide a safe and memorable experience. The Field Officer will participate in fire and emergency response and work with key partners including volunteers, contractors, neighbours and Aboriginal communities.

NPWS maintains a term pool register of applicants who are interested in working as Field Officers. A term pool is an ongoing recruitment tool to help with recruitment if a position becomes available. Roles are currently being recruited for the seasonal period between 1 September 2025 and 30 May 2026. The contract length is adjusted on a case-by-case basis depending on when the vacancy occurs.

There are vacancies as of late September 2025 and you are encouraged to apply at the time this advertisement is live as early applications will be reviewed first.

Field Officer positions may become vacant throughout the year for a variety of reasons and National Parks teams look to recruit when vacancies occur.

Please note that registering your interest does not guarantee employment, when and if a position becomes available during the season, all applications on the register are reviewed. If you are successfully shortlisted, you may be contacted for an interview to participate in the recruitment process outlined below. Each step must be completed and successfully passed before progressing to the next stage. Please get in touch with the contact person listed if you have any questions.
