Position overview:

As the Apparel and Accessory Designer for Six Zero Pickleball, you will lead the design, production, and management of our growing apparel and accessories range. This includes sports performance ware and items such as hats, bags and paddle grips and covers. You will work across the full product lifecycle — from concept and sourcing to production and inventory management. You will collaborate with global suppliers and internal teams to ensure a cohesive, commercially viable apparel line that aligns with our brand and meets the needs of customers in both Australian and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Design stylish, high-performance apparel and on-brand print artwork aligned with the Six Zero aesthetic

• Research trends, colour palettes, fabrics, and silhouettes to inform seasonal collections

• Oversee the end-to-end development process: from concept sketches and CADs to tech packs, samples, fittings, approvals, and final production

• Oversee the timeline of all key stages for multiple product categories across each season

• Collaborate with offshore CMT (cut-make-trim) and raw material suppliers, particularly in China and Southeast Asia

• Ensure product fit, function, construction, and aesthetics meet performance and lifestyle demands

• Maintain strong working knowledge of garment compliance, quality standards, and construction techniques

• Coordinate and negotiate with manufacturers to meet cost, timeline, and margin goals

• Manage inventory and SKUs across our warehouse systems and online platforms (e.g., Shopify, Cin7)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve sales budgets, gross profit margin targets, markdown goals, and closing stocks

• Negotiate cost-effective agreements with factories, suppliers, and agents to meet margin objectives.

• Analyse weekly sales reports to drive re-prices, markdowns, and inventory optimisation

• Work closely with the graphics/marketing team to bring your designs to life in campaigns, lookbooks, and product launches

• Participate in international sourcing and factory visits as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in fashion design or related field

• 3+ years of experience in fashion or performance wear design with strong understanding of garment fit, technical specifications, and quality standards

• Prior experience in a production and/or product development role

• Demonstrated end-to-end product development experience

• Strong knowledge of offshore garment production, including fabric/yarn construction and garment compliance regulations

• Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers and managing production timelines

• Highly organised with experience in product lifecycle management, inventory management and SKU tracking

• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar design tools such as Optitex, as well as Microsoft Office

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while delivering against financial targets and meeting timelines

• Process-driven with strong numeracy and inventory management skills

• A passion for pickleball or sports is a big plus
