Primary objective

Work collaboratively with Government and non-government service providers including the Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV)

sector across the Northern Territory to ensure reform implementation is locally driven and responsive and enable coordination and

strengthening of local service systems. Provide leadership, specialised advice and corporate support in the development and

implementation of strategies, project plans and infrastructure programs for remote women's safe houses, while providing leadership and

line management to the Regional Coordinators to ensure a responsive, high quality and collaborative response to DFSV projects in regional

and remote settings.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with the Department's central and regional-based staff and external

stakeholders, to successfully influence enhancement of DFSV service responses, including projects focussed on remote women's safe

houses.

  1. In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, support regional and remote DFSV facilities to operate with enhanced service

delivery and client outcomes, and inform the allocation of Northern Territory Remote Aboriginal Investment (NTRAI) funds.

  1. Provide support to non-government DFSV services in understanding and complying with service delivery and practise standards,

including the Risk Assessment Management Framework (RAMF).

  1. Support quality and coordination of DFSV services across regions, including prevention, early intervention and response services, in

close partnership with the DFSV Grants team, to understand and strategically commission services and support to the regional and

remote DFSV sector.

  1. Provide effective leadership to the Regional Coordination team to enable the delivery of strategic projects in line with the Department's

strategic plan and DFSV divisional priorities.

  1. Oversee and guide Coordinators in the team, to enable the delivery of client-focussed services; manage resources appropriately to

address changing operational requirements and proactively manage team recruitment, human resources and performance.

  1. Initiate, develop, implement and review effective policies, governance and reporting systems in all areas of DFSV prevention and

prepare a range reports, memorandums and Ministerials as required.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with ability to engage and influence diverse groups

including senior officers and executives, encouraging support of relevant stakeholders, adapting communications style for the

audience to convey strategic priorities and future planning regarding DFSV prevention.

  1. Demonstrated understanding of the context, issues and challenges of DFSV prevention and response within the NT, national and

international strategy, policies, trends and initiatives.

  1. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate the non-government sector, government agencies and stakeholders to build and

maintain effective, collaborative relationships and drive change.

  1. High-level organisation and prioritisation skills and experience in managing a diverse and complex portfolio, across urban, regional

and remote locations that enable service delivery, and leading projects of varying size and complexity with competing priorities.

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff, set priorities, monitor workflows and manage performance within a high-paced

environment, across geographically dispersed locations, to ensure the effective management of regional coordination priorities.

  1. Proven track record of building partnerships and working effectively with diverse groups, such as law enforcement, social services,

healthcare providers, and community organizations.

  1. Driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional and remote locations including in small aircrafts, and including overnight stays as

required.

Desirable

Tertiary qualifications in public sector or business management, human services or another relevant field.
