The department is seeking an EL2 Procurement professional for a high-impact role at the heart of a globally significant initiative, leading strategic sourcing and commercial operations critical to the success of the event.

Level/Classification:EL2 Contract Type:Labour HireLocation:Canberra, ACT (Other states will be considered) Salary Bracket:$151, $176,530.00 plus Super (based on experience) Requirements:**

  • Ability and willingness to obtain Baseline clearance
  • Ability and willingness to Undergo Police Check

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of procurement's, from planning to execution.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the procurement and contract management team.
  • Develop and implement innovative procurement strategies and frameworks.
  • Manage high-value contracts and ensure compliance with government procurement frameworks.
  • Offer authoritative advice on complex, high-risk, or sensitive procurement matters.
  • Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders, including internal teams, suppliers, legal, and probity advisers.
  • Represent and promote the procurement function as a trusted centre of excellence.
  • Contribute to the broader strategic and governance priorities of the Taskforce.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Proven experience leading large-scale or complex procurement's within government or similar high-regulation environments.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement legislation, frameworks, and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with a focus on performance and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and high-profile environment.
  • Advanced stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience overseeing contract performance, supplier governance, and risk management.
  • A strategic mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Previous experience in event-related, infrastructure, or cross-agency programs (highly desirable).
