About Us
Eastern Community Legal Centre (ECLC) is a multidisciplinary legal service that works to prevent problems, progress fair outcomes, and support the wellbeing and resilience of communities and community members in Melbourne's East.
ECLC provides legal assistance and community engagement across a broad catchment, with offices in Box Hill, Boronia, and Healesville, and outreach locations across the region. Our integrated practice model brings together legal professionals, financial counsellors, advocates, and community development workers to deliver holistic support to clients and communities. ECLC's ROSE (Rights of Seniors in the East) program is a specialist elder abuse response initiative delivered in partnership with Oonah and other key organisations.
About the Role
The Community Lawyer – ROSE will be a vital member of ECLC's Elder Abuse Response team, working within a multidisciplinary model alongside a Financial Counsellor and Elder Abuse Advocate. This role delivers client-centred and trauma-informed legal services to older people experiencing elder abuse, while also contributing to community education, partnership development, law reform, and continuous improvement of the ROSE program.
You'll provide legal advice and casework, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and support systemic change through education and advocacy. The role also includes occasional secondary consultations and participation in external forums.
About You
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced lawyer who is committed to social justice and supporting older people experiencing vulnerability.
You will be a confident communicator and collaborator, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and community partners. • Confidence in using ICT-based devices, applications, and software to support productivity and communication
