Do you have what it takes to become a Bamara Youth Mentor?

To be a successful Bamara Mentor, you must be able to balance empathy in your daily work with a drive to ensure we achieve business outcomes. You will have solid customer service and administrative skills and have ability to build successful relationships. You thrive working collaboratively in a diverse team environment. Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service and administration with sound computer literacy skills would be an advantage

Key Performance Areas:

  • Engage young people to enable career planning, training and development to ready them for employment.
  • Build soft skills through facilitating a range of activities to increase engagement in the program
  • Actively source employment opportunities.
  • Match young people with employment opportunities in order to achieve Program outcomes and KPIs
  • Deliver job-search preparation and training sessions.
  • Educate young people on employer expectations and preparing them for interviews.
  • Provide post placement support to assist young people in remaining in employment long term.

Key Selection Criteria:

The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to analyse job requirements and effectively support young people into education or employment in a variety of conditions
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, liaise and consult with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, government and non-government organisation's, and facilitate working groups
  • Demonstrated understanding of local labor market and regional skills shortages
  • Current valid driving license, satisfactory Police check and WWCC Ochre Card
  • Be able to get a MYID account
