Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Loan Writer / Mortgage Broker to join our dynamic team, with positions available in Essendon, Melbourne and Castle Hill, Sydney. This is a full-time, on-site role for a highly skilled broker who is confident working independently without mentorship, and who has a proven track record of consistently delivering strong settlement volumes. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of residential and commercial lending, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to manage complex borrower profiles including SMSF, trust structures, and self-employed clients.

This opportunity is suited to someone who thrives in a professional, fast-paced environment, is motivated to maintain and grow their own pipeline, and is confident in navigating second-tier and non-bank lenders as well as mainstream institutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage the loan process from initial client enquiry through to settlement, ensuring a seamless end-to-end experience for clients.
  2. Assess client financial circumstances, borrowing capacity, and objectives to structure tailored lending solutions.
  3. Confidently handle complex loan scenarios including SMSF lending, trust borrowers, and self-employed clients with diverse income streams.
  4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of credit policies, lender products, and compliance requirements across major banks, second-tier, and non-bank lenders.
  5. Build strong and trusted relationships with clients, guiding them through the mortgage process with professionalism and clarity.
  6. Prepare and submit loan applications using ApplyOnline, Simpology, and LoanApp, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.
  7. Liaise proactively with lenders, solicitors, accountants, and other stakeholders to progress applications and resolve issues efficiently.
  8. Consistently achieve settlement volumes of $3M+ per month while maintaining high client satisfaction and retention.
  9. Contribute to the company's growth by upholding best practices, supporting colleagues, and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a mortgage broker with demonstrated ability to write deals end-to-end without mentorship.
  • Proven career track record with 100+ settled loans (RTCI to be provided for reference).
  • Currently achieving settlements of at least $3M per month in existing role.
  • Completed Certificate IV and Diploma in Finance & Mortgage Broking.
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential, investment, SMSF, and trust lending structures.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with self-employed clients, including interpreting financial statements and managing complex income structures.
  • Fluent in navigating second-tier and non-bank lenders, with a strong understanding of their policies and product niches.
  • Proficient in loan submission platforms including ApplyOnline, Simpology, and LoanApp.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain lending solutions clearly to clients.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, capable of prioritising a busy pipeline and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Commitment to working full-time, on-site in either Essendon (Melbourne) or Castle Hill (Sydney).
