Are you a fantastic disability support worker who's studying allied health? We're looking for staff who are passionate about making a real difference in someone's life and are experienced and confident supporting people with Autism and Behaviours of Concern. We have multiple clients located across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with expanding rosters, and we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our close-knit support teams. Successful applicants will be able to commit to regular ongoing shifts and be reliable and punctual.
About us
We're a rapidly scaling, not-for-profit disability support provider that believes in positively transforming the lives of people with disability. In doing so, we aim to create the highest quality agency we can, ideally reshaping the sector as a whole.
This means we often do things differently. Since we began in 2015, we've made it our mission to examine every part of what a support provider does – from how we structure our teams, to how we recruit and roster, to how we ensure the highest quality support, to how technology acts as an enabler for all that we do.
Our clients tell us they notice this difference, and for many it's had a profound impact on their lives. Supporting more than 250 clients across metropolitan and regional Victoria and only continuing to grow, we want the people who join us to also believe disability support should enable a life of independence and dignity
Roster and Availability:
- Shifts include weekday, evening and weekend availability
- Ability and reliability to commit to regular ongoing shifts
- Flexibility to fill in shifts for staff leave and pick up extra shifts
To do a great job, you'll need:
- Minimum three years' experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (BOC)
- Experience working with people with Autism
- Experience supporting people with high physical support needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed care
- Ability to problem-solve and think outside the box
- Observant to the finer details; detail-oriented
- Well-organised and thoughtful, including supporting clients to plan for significant events
- Comfortable forming a genuine bond with the client
- Exuberant and engaging, with a mature outlook on life
- Enjoy outdoor activities and can be a positive role model
- Independent and competent with life skills such as laundry and household chores
- Ability to follow documentation protocols
- Full driver's licence and willingness to drive clients in your own car and in clients' cars/vans
**Please note - when you apply you will receive an email asking you for some further details - please look out for it
As part of our recruitment process, certain checks will be undertaken with your permission, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check that you must have before you can start work.
We encourage all of our staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 and current recommendations about vaccination can be found on ATAGI website.
InLife is committed to ensuring the rights, safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. We have a zero tolerance of child abuse and every InLife employee has a responsibility to make sure all children and young people are safe and feel safe.
Benefits
- We offer great pay, generous benefits and a supportive team culture
- You can also access salary packaging (can mean extra take-home pay)
- Opportunity for career progression - a clear career path for assistants who want to progress into team leader or coordinator roles
At InLife, diversity and inclusion is part of our DNA. We celebrate the amazing differences we all bring to our work and we actively ensure that everyone feels safe and supported in our workplaces.
We welcome and encourage applications from everyone and our hiring decisions will never be based on things such as your gender identity, disability, age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation or cultural background - because they simply aren't relevant to doing an awesome job (and you are protected from this kind of discrimination under Australian law)
We also know that we continue to learn more about inclusion every day, so if there is something you think we could do differently to make InLife a place you could picture yourself working, we're all ears.
