At Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, we lead conservation efforts in the field and participate in regional and global conservation breeding programs to establish insurance populations for species threatened in the wild. We also operate two wildlife hospitals that treat and rehabilitate injured native wildlife, as well as providing best practice health care for the animals at our Zoos.

Job description:

• Located at Sydney's Iconic - Taronga Zoo
• Casual Roles on offer
• Start of December 2025 Start Date
• TCSA Retail Award: Hourly rates starting from: $19.94 per hour (17yrs & under) to $32.17 per hour (21+yrs) inclusive of casual loading, plus Weekend Penalties and Public Holiday loading where applicable

This is truly unique retail work - Based at Taronga Zoo, Mosman

With Taronga's busy period around the corner, we are seeking casual Retail Staff to join our dynamic team

• This role will suit someone looking to work 3 to 4 shifts across a 7-day roster.
• The position is perfect for someone returning to the workforce or looking for a casual role to fill in your week
• You will be providing top notch warm and welcoming Taronga Zoo service for guests visiting the zoo

About the Role…

• Shifts typically range from 9:30am till 5:30pm, 10:30am till 3pm, 11am till 4pm, and 12:30pm till 5:30pm.
• Ability to work evenings for events, with strong availability across the Christmas and New years period.
• You should have 4 days availability over a 7-day roster (including Friday's and Saturday's)
• 3 to 4 shifts per week on offer
• Enhance the guest experience and maximize retail sales by providing excellent customer service in Taronga's retail stores.

About You…

We are looking for candidates that have/ are willing to:

• Exceptional customer service skills
• The ability to positively engage with a range of guests including children
• To be active - you'll be on your feet for long periods of time and may require some moderate to heavy lifting and reaching
• The availability to work flexible hours, we're open 7 days per week
• NSW Working with Children Check
• All on the job training provided
