They are currently seeking an experienced
IT System Administrator
to take ownership of the administration of IT SaaS solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring security and policy compliance, managing license usage, promoting and supporting SaaS tools across the organisation, and escalating issues to external vendors when necessary.
About The Role
The Sunrise Project is seeking a passionate and technically capable IT System Administrator to support its remote-first, Apple-based IT environment. This role focuses on administering SaaS solutions, ensuring device and data security, supporting users, and contributing to long-term IT infrastructure improvements aligned with Sunrise's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a helpdesk escalation point and advise staff on technical support matters.
- Administer and manage
JAMF Pro/Protect/Connect systems
, including software distribution, policy configuration, and device deployment. - Respond to system incidents and security breaches to minimize downtime and protect assets.
- Collaborate with the IT team to support strategic initiatives, infrastructure projects, and policy development.
- Configure and implement infrastructure solutions within project teams.
- Design and deliver IT training sessions and develop reference materials via the LMS platform.
Required skills and experience
- Experience in IT system administration (including unpaid/grassroots/lived experience).
- Strong technical competence with
Apple macOS systems and JAMF Pro/Connect/Protect tools. - Familiarity with SaaS platforms such as
Google Workspace, Asana, Slac
k, etc. - Knowledge of IT security protocols, incident response, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
- Analytical capabilities to diagnose, resolve, and automate IT solutions.
- Commitment to climate justice and inclusive, equitable work practices.
