Our client is a long-standing, family-owned civil construction company based in Newcastle, with over 30 years of proven experience. Renowned for their integrity, quality workmanship, and strong client relationships, they deliver tailored solutions across the Hunter region and beyond for clients in the Government, Mining, and Infrastructure sectors.
As their project portfolio continues to grow, they are now seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Civil Estimator to join the team. This is a great opportunity to be involved in a broad range of civil projects including energy infrastructure, mining, airports, rail and maritime works, dam construction, environmental projects, carparks, and roadworks.
The Role
As Civil Estimator, you will lead the tendering process for civil construction projects, collaborating with key stakeholders including engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Your focus will be on preparing accurate, competitive estimates and ensuring smooth project handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and contribute to pre-tender meetings
- Analyse plans, specifications, and scope of works
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labour
- Work closely with delivery teams on handover, pricing strategies, and resourcing
About You
This position is ideal for an experienced Estimator looking to join a respected and supportive team, or a junior estimator ready to step up into a more senior role.
You'll Have:
- Solid understanding of civil construction methodologies, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (including Project)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
