We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead our Medical Ward 4B, providing care for general medical and renal in-patients. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to take the next step in your leadership career, with permanent full-time or part-time options available for the right candidate. Role includes working up to 76 hours per fortnight (10 days per fortnight).
The Opportunity
As the Nurse Unit Manager for our busy 24-bed Medical Ward, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical practices and processes.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, you will:
- Lead, support, and develop nursing staff to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Promote a positive team culture built on collaboration and professional growth
- Manage financial and human resources, including rostering and staff allocation
- Ensure compliance with best practice standards and legislative requirements
About You

You will also demonstrate:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 5 years' post-graduate nursing experience.
- Proven experience in staff management, rostering, and performance development.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with confidence in delegation and team coordination.
- Previous experience in a senior nursing or management role (highly regarded).

Remuneration: A base hourly rate from $ $ superannuation, based on experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD NUM/MUM level 1 – 4).
The Hospital
John Flynn Private Hospital is a 354 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. The hospital provides services to the population of the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast extending into the NSW Northern Rivers area.

Requirements
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
