We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to provide expert, autonomous nursing care for paediatric patients with complex needs in specialties like Oncology, Haematology, Diabetes, and Neurosciences. You will be pivotal in planning and managing specialist care, driving quality standards, and providing clinical leadership, education, and research support across the unit.
About The Team
The 11a IPU provides a broad range of complex inpatient care for patients from many paediatric oncology and medical specialties. Typical patients include, but are not limited to, the specialties of:
- Oncology
- Haematology
- Diabetes and Endocrinology
- Neurosciences
- Immunology
- Rheumatology
- Metabolic medicine
About The Role
The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the management and care of paediatric oncology and medical specialty patients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the Healthcare Team structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of 11A specialist nursing care. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.
Autonomy
- Practices autonomously.
- Provides leadership in clinical decision making to give and/or coordinate care to particular patients.
- Assumes responsibility for professional leadership for a ward, service or unit in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 (NG7).
- Applies critical thinking across all the domains
